The Foundry was a 3 month long process that consists of hundreds of unique props and occupied anywhere between 6-14 hours a day 7 days a week. Its centerpiece is a massive chandelier boiler engine that provides steam power to the city above.

The boiler centerpiece is elevated above a massive furnace, complete with a coal shoot and bellows.

Each asset was designed from reference and could hypothetically run on steam power if actually created. Everything needed to look like it would work in real life.

The Foundry men run the foundry and keep the furnaces stoked.

The Foundry men are equip with a wide range of tools. From cutters, to hammers; from chisels to measuring tools, the foundry men need to be prepared to handle pottery, glass, leather, wood and metal

The Foundry imports raw materials such as lumber and scrap metal. The lumber is sawed, split and cut into usable wedges...

...Usable lumber wedges are loaded onto the lathe and turned into handles for tools and weapons. The lathe has a toque driven foot peddle. I modeled the ropes with 'real' knots that would actually hold.

leather is processed and cut into strips for tools, weapons and armor.

Scrap metal is tossed into the foundry's steam powered grinder, which possesses the scrap into a more agreeable form.

Ground scrap metal is thrown into a heating dish and melted into ingots for use in tools, weapons and armor.

Any odds and ends can be found around the foundry on storage shelves.

Fun side note. I HAVE this old oil can and welding torch. They actually exist in real life. They fit thematically and made for a nice reference.

Once pottery is spun on the wheel and dried in the kiln it is glazed and left out to dry.

Weapons are stored on racks and picked up once a week by the city guard.

Some of the foundry men are inventors, set to the task of streamlining the foundry with new technology and designs.

There is even a library filled with books on the topics of metalworking and glassblowing. A wizard once left his books down in the loading bay. They now sit on the shelf as well.

The foundry is equip with a scale for weighted engineering and a vise for holding work securely in place.

The foundry door is a giant strip gear hooked to a massive gear system in the walls. the pistons that turn the gears are activated by the pressure release by the door.
